Bill Benica, Audio Specialist Bill Benica’s 25-year broadcasting career has included positions as disc jockey, radio show producer, program director, operations director, talk show host, general manager, and station co-owner. He has hosted his own television show, written a media column for San Luis Obispo’s New Times, and has done independent production for many ad agencies and for KSBY-TV. He is noted for the excellence and effectiveness of his award-winning commercials. Bill holds a 3rd Class Radio Operator’s License with a broadcast endorsement. His representative projects include narrations for many multi-media productions, among them Yosemite National Park’s "John Muir Trail" presentation; a student recruitment film for California Polytechnic State University, and a series of educational videos used at the university level. Mr. Benica has collaborated with Pandora & Company on radio scripts, video voice-overs, public service announcements, commercials, and multiple radio shows since 1978. |

Paula Carvallaro, Print Production Specialist/Graphic Designer Paula has a diverse background in graphic design, including brochure and magazine design, corporate identity packages, multimedia presentations, slide presentation packages, and website layout. Her representative client list includes Allan Hancock College, Allendale (Factory Mutual) Insurance, Cellular One, Dooney & Bourke Handbags, Lindt Chocolate, The First Years, and the Levinson Institute. She has worked with Pandora & Company on numerous graphic design projects including People’s Self-Help Housing, the Morro Bay Natural History Museum, and Frame Works. |

John Corenbaum, Broadcast Engineer/Video Filmaker With over 20 years of experience in electrical and aerospace engineering, John Corenbaum decided to explore his passion for television broadcasting. He has worked in commercial television as a broadcast engineer active in all phases of production, in both live and studio environments. He is currently the manager the San Luis Obispo-based Brown Bear Video, for which he designed and built the broadcast system. The Brown Bear mission is to produce and provide high quality, high-tech video-audio productions at a reasonable cost. Among John’s recent projects are the Baywood Mozart Festival Concert, the Cuesta College Foundation Scholarship Program, and a tourism/nature documentary for the Los Osos/Baywood Park Chamber of Commerce. |

David George, Statistical Consultant Extensive hands-on experience in conducting public opinion surveys, voter polls, and political fundraising gives a real-world component to the academic research of professor and scholar Dr. David George. A member of the Political Science faculty of California Polytechnic State University/San Luis Obispo since 1970, Dr. George is noted for his work in the fields of voting and public opinion; attitudinal conflict and electoral decision-making; social science research techniques; and statistical analysis. Dr. George holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from San Diego State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. |

Lynne Landwehr, Writer/Editor Lynne’s varied background includes the public and private sectors, with experience in the academic world, the non-profit world, and the corporate world. She currently provides writing and editorial services, as well as website design and maintenance, for Management Practices Group, a San Francisco-based organization specializing in equity change management. Previously, she was the Researcher and Office Manager for the San Luis Obispo County Historical Museum. And in her distant past, she taught French language and literature for fifteen years. Associated with Pandora & Company since 1993, Lynne has worked on numerous projects including those of the San Luis Medical Clinic, Sierra Care Physicians, The Natural Image, San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival, and Village Public Television. George Lepp, Professional Photographer/Publisher A nationally renowned professional nature/outdoor photographer, George thrives on the challenges of capturing on film the images he sees, and on sharing his knowledge through seminars and writing. He has worked on projects throughout the U.S. as well as in Antarctica, Baja California, Canada, Mexico, and the Galapagos. His cover credits include Arizona Highways, Natural History, Outdoor Photographer, PC Photo, Wilderness, Car and Driver, and AutoWeek. His photographs have appeared in major publications such as Discover, National Wildlife, People Magazine, and Time. His stock and assignment photography is represented by Corgis, LippStock, Photo Researcher, and Tony Stone Images. George’s author and/or photo-illustration credits include Beyond the Basics I (1993) and Beyond the Basics II (1997), Bonneville Salt Flats (1988), Cannibal Soup (1978), Canon Lenses (1995), and Vintage Car Racing (1990). Margaret Mehring, Filmmaker Whether acting in the capacity of writer or director or producer—or all three—Margaret Mehring has kept her filmmaking focus on “human communications to meet human needs.” These concerns led her to develop an undergraduate degree program in screenwriting in the School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California. As creator and Director of the Filmic Writing Program there, she passed on to her students her devotion to the potential for significant human connections in all communications. Margaret’s representative projects include over 100 separate film titles in the documentary, educational, and industrial fields. Among them are 24 Spanish-language films for the Modern Language Association, a four-part film series entitled "Ancient Iran" for the Media Center at Michigan State University, and a collection of training films for the California State Department of Social Welfare. Margaret has worked with Pandora & Company on numerous projects since 1992, including the First Amendment/Blacklist Project and the capital campaign for the Media Arts Program at the Oglala Sioux Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. |

Heather Mendel, Calligraphic Artist A
love of words and a passion for art are the elements Heather Mendel blends
in her calligraphic designs. She enjoys using her artistic impulses and
deep appreciation of color to bring the meaning of words into visual form.
Working to music in her studio at home, Heather designs “words of art”—certificates,
illuminated addresses and citations, as well as marriage vows, poetry,
and prose. Her work has been featured in a number of one-woman shows on
the West Coast. |

Liz Moore, Print Production Specialist and Graphic Designer Liz is an expert at preparing maps, charts, illustrations, and graphs in a clear format designed for a wide reading public. Currently she is working with Pandora & Company on the Elfin Forest Interpretive Sign Project for the Parks Department of the County of San Luis Obispo. One of Liz’s recent projects involved working on the re-design of the San Luis Obispo Tribune. Her ongoing responsibilities at the Tribune included presentation of color pages, including the local news page, the sports and features pages, and the entertainment magazine’s front and center pages. |

Binnie Perper, Writer/Marketing ConsultantFascinated by human nature, Binnie Perper has never figured out what makes people tick, but she knows a lot about what makes them buy. For years, she has put this knowledge to work for clients ranging from neighborhood retailers to international corporations. From her first job as a copywriter at J. Walter Thompson, through her career as an independent writer, and now as head of Marketing Communications at Dri-Eaz Products in Burlington, Washington, Binnie has brought enthusiasm and a penchant for precise, persuasive language to her work. Extensive reading in marketing, technology, business, history, philosophy, religion, travel, and cooking adds spice and depth to Binnie’s writing. Her motto is “Write to the rescue, on time and on budget.” Binnie and Pandora have worked together since 1982. |

Libby Tolley, ArtistWhether using watercolor or oil, and whether working on location or in the studio, Libby Tolley creates paintings that are a thoughtful combination of personal vision, considered composition, and expressive color choices. Since 1990, Libby and Pandora have combined words, graphics, and beautiful paintings to tell stories for clients such as fine wineries, coastal resorts, the Mozart Festival of San Luis Obispo, and the Nature Conservancy of California. At ease in multiple artistic environments, Libby readily incorporates in her artwork the concepts envisioned by both the client and Pandora & Company. When
painting for herself, Libby is devoted to capturing the rapidly changing
California landscape. A print of her oil painting of San Luis Obispo’s
Mission Plaza hangs in the State Capitol building in Sacramento, and her
work has been shown in juried exhibitions across the United States and
internationally. |

Paula Zima, ArtistDuring her first years of university study in the field of Graphic Communications, Paula learned how important it is to find out what clients need and want and how to best to keep them happy. Later, she expanded her focus to include commercial illustration and fine arts. Paula works across a range of media, painting in gouache, oil, and pen and ink, and sculpting in bronze, clay, and stone. Her newest work also incorporates the vast new field of digital media. Paula varies her style to fit the project and the client, whether it’s See’s Candies (a client since 1982), Pandora & Company, or herself, a favorite “client.” |
